**Department/Unit Summary**
The **Emergency Department** at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. The ER has 22 beds, 7 bay fast track unit operates within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support. The Emergency Department has been recognized company wide as a consistent top performer. The ED staff works in a team environment. The ER welcomes many area college and physician resident students in the department.

**Qualifications and requirements**
Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
**Additional requirements include:**
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
NIHSS Certification obtained within 90 days after hire date.
Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
