**Position Summary:**
The Nursing Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the nursing staff to ensure high\\-quality care. This role provides leadership and support to nursing employees.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
* Assists DON/ADON with daily operational needs.
* Primary responsibility to direct, support, and supervisory oversight of nursing staff.
* Supports the nurses in the field with training, assistance, and assist in nursing education needs.
* Ensure Nursing Staff perform their weekly and daily documentation.
* Ensure all administration of medications and vaccinations as requested by the physician or psychiatrist are performed in a timely manner.
* Completes 6 month \\& annual reviews and disciplinary actions as needed for nursing staff.
* Participates in the maintenance and development of nursing policies and procedures, including staff DMA policy and Process.
* Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement
* Maintains day to day and on call scheduling of nursing staff
* Complete nursing chart audits to ensure assessments are completed.
* Monthly diabetic foot evaluations.
* Assists with coordination of resident psychiatric, medical, dental, and optical appointments as needed.
* Performs DMA and initial medical classroom training.
* Educates DCS on the use of scales, PB monitor, O2 use, thermometer, stethoscope, glucometer, wheelchair and hospital bed equipment.
* Participates in medial rotation.
* Assists with development and revisions of medical policies and procedures.
* Assists in the destruction of controlled substances as outlined by DEA guidelines.
* Responsible for triaging medical concerns.
* Audits the use of eMAR and EHR programs.
* Monitors physical health issues of residents at assigned sites.
* Educates staff regarding infection issues, physical health and behavioral treatment of residents.
* Coordinates behavioral treatment and physical issues with physician and psychologist.
* When needed, provide input/data/summaries as part of the Infection Control Plan.
* Participate in the influenza campaign and provide data where requested.
**Education and Qualifications:**
* Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
* Valid RN license in the state employee will be working in.
* Must pass criminal background check.
* Must possess a valid Driverโs License.
* Must have reliable transportation.
* Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
* Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
* Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.

**Work Environment:**
Most job duties will be performed in Beacon homes.
**Travel:**
Frequent travel to Beacon homes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:**
This is a full\\-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. On\\-call duties required.
