Position Purpose
AtSaint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Main PACU provides post\\-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.
What You Will Do
* Provide high\\-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries.
* Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness.
* Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.
Minimum Qualifications
**Required:**
* Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing required
* Valid RN license in Connecticut
**Preferred:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
* The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery
* Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU nurses with 2\\+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU\\-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills.Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertise
* BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)
* ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post\\-hire)
* Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines
Position Highlights and Benefits
* Full\\-Time – 36 hours/week – Evening Shift
* Three 12\\-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend
* Variable start times: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, or 11:00 am
* On\\-call requirements are based on unit needs. On\\-call may be required to support off shifts, such as Nights.
