**RESPONSIBLITIES FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING ARE:**




* Develops and implements clinical systems that ensure consistent delivery of quality resident care and services.


* Organizes, plans, and directs department functions and activities to comply with long and short term objectives.


* Consistently evaluates the department policies and procedures for compliance with current rules and regulations


* Monitors Quality Indicators, identifies trends, and develops action plans.


* Interprets regulatory requirements and monitors documentation for compliance.


* Maintains compliance with nursing care standards, policies, procedures and regulatory agency requirements.


* Manages and analyzes the staffing patterns to ensure that all nursing units are staffed accordingly.


* Establishes positive employee relations programs and practices.


* Serves as a role model and mentor for the entire nursing team,


* Uses effective communication skills by providing timely feedback to all personnel.



**QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING POSITION:**


* Must possess a current Registered Nurse license
* Three years of supervisory and/or **DIRECTOR OF NURSING** experience preferred.
* Must have the ability to lead and develop all nursing personnel
* Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local long term care regulations a must.
