šŸ“ Description: We are currently looking for a Full Time Ancillary Services Clinical Nurse Educator to join our NLD Outpatient Team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.


**Summary:**



This facility provides professional and clinical health care services to First American beneficiaries. The Ancillary Services Clinical Nurse Educator is primarily responsible for meeting the educational needs of unit staff through assessing, developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for staff. Thus, promoting personnel to maintain competency, continuing education, and leadership development by means of in\\-services, classes, simulations, etc. and overseeing the unit orientations of all new department nursing staff.


Primary duty stations within the Ancillary Care setting, including but not limited to public health, dental, pharmacy, and imaging areas.


**Responsibilities:**

* Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures
* Collaborates with clinic managers and the Quality department on educational needs pertaining to changes within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health
* Ensures the educational needs are met by incorporating advanced clinical practice, education, consultation, research, and professional/leadership activities in all phases of education including assessing, planning, implementing, communicating and evaluating educational programs
* Initiates and completes all aspects of educational programs in a timely manner and maintains personnel educational data in an organized fashion
* Works closely with unit managers to coordinate and develop educational opportunities for all unit staff
* Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to staff
* Plans, prepares, and maintains available educational materials/resources that are accurate, relevant, and evidenced based for use within the unit
* Develops, organization, and coordination of ongoing clinical education and skills events for all staff
* Identifies and evaluates instructional materials in all types of media and formats
* Identifies and recruits internal and external resources for educational activities
* Adjusts content and teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs and provides educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development
* Actively involved in the use of simulation for staff training
* Assists with trainings focused on staff development related to: CNDH policies and procedure, Safe medication administration, Nursing documentation, Performance improvement initiatives of CNDH and units, Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA standards/updates specific to nursing
* Oversees unit compliance with HeartCode and RQI programs Trained and proficient in assisting staff with HeartCode and/or RQI assignments
* Stays abreast of Electronic Health Record and other programs while being a super\\-user for these programs to support the staff as needed
* Collaborates with unit managers and educators to ensure that all staff are meeting requirements
* Assists as needed with the development, organization and coordination of the Nursing Learning and Development onboarding program, makes changes as necessary
* Writes competency statements and related performance criteria
* Develops annual competency\\-based educational program
* Supervises the identification of needed core and unit clinical competencies and performs competency evaluation/skills assessments
* Ensures documentation and maintenance of initial and ongoing competency for all levels of staff within the unit
* Ensures that staff competency levels are assessed on a regular basis and that they meet a minimum standard for designated unit
* Coordinates completion of onboarding file and reports delinquencies to the appropriate manager for follow\\-up
* Actively participates in emergency preparedness processes and activities to ensure staff readiness
* Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
* Participates in meetings to ensure effective communication with staff, peers, supervisors and management
* Facilitates and conducts scheduled meetings as needed
* Develops and revises policies and procedures as required
* Prepares reports as needed or requested
* Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information
* Provides first class customer service \\- courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

* Unrestricted Oklahoma Registered Nurse License
* Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Pass general background check
