Deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. To provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of North Carolina. Participates in Quality Improvement Activities. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promotes personal and professional development.

**Minimum Requirements**


American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Current license as a RN in the state of North Carolina.




Demonstrates competencies in nursing practice.



Basic computer skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.



Nurses at ECU Health Family Medicine Avon Clinic \\- American Heart Association ACLS is required.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Registered Nurse (RN)** to join our multidisciplinary team in a busy outpatient physician office specializing in **cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery**, as well as **advanced heart failure** management. The primary focus of this role is **telephone triage**, requiring strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to coordinate care across a complex patient population.

**Key Responsibilities:**


Perform **telephone triage** for patients with cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and heart failure conditions


Assess patient symptoms and direct appropriate care, including scheduling appointments, advising on treatment, or escalating to providers


Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care


Provide education and guidance to patients and caregivers regarding symptoms, procedures, and follow\\-up care


Document all interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and timely


Experience in telephone triage or outpatient clinical setting strongly preferred


Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills


Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
