##### **Job Summary and Qualifications**
Responsible for the overall functioning of the hospital on evening, night, weekend shift, and Holiday shifts. Coordinates hospital wide activities by providing direction that is appropriate to the demographics and/ or specific needs of the patient population served by the hospital. Provides administrative and clinical information and acts as a liaison for ancillary, medical staff and other services. Provides support to those departments whose hours of operation do not extend fully into the off shifts and completes rounds to be visible throughout the shift.
* Under the general supervision of the SVP Clinical Operations, CNO and in accordance with the Nursing Practice Standards established by the hospitals Nursing Organization, the rules and regulations established by the NH State Board of Nursing, The Joint Commission and appropriate professional specialty organizations and within policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions.
* Maintains daily shift contact with all patient care areas. Assesses patient care delivery needs for shift, adjusts staffing levels in conjunction with Department Director/Clinical Managers/relief Charge RN’s. Recognizes staff for a job well done.
* Acts as a resource for Bed Placement RN (evenings, nights, and weekends) assuring that appropriate bed assignment is made expeditiously. Facilitates transfers from other facilities and keeps all appropriate departments informed of timelines.
* Attends all Code Blue’s, RRT’s, Condition H’s and other emergent situations as needed. Provides immediate support, direction or clinical intervention as patient care situations dictate.
* Assesses methods of problem identification/resolution utilized by the nursing staff. Makes recommendations and assists in implementing change in identified areas of need. Determines appropriateness of request for ancillary support services not fully provided for on respective shifts.
* Responds to internal and external concerns and complaints relative to all hospital operations and provides intervention. Communicates problems and needs to appropriate Department Director or Patient Liaison. Promotes active customer relations.
* Identifies educational needs of self and staff. Implements necessary educational activity recommends program attendance or communicates need to Department Director or Department of Education. Assist and promotes on duty educational opportunities for staff.
* Provides input into clinical evaluations for staff and float personnel as requested by respective Department Director/Clinical Managers.
* Provides support to nursing staff for Clinical Information Systems projects.
* Participates on hospital and nursing committees and/or remains informed and up to date with current events at CMC.
* Develops, maintains and promotes interdepartmental/interdisciplinary communications and relationships.
* Promotes patient flow by removing barriers and acts as a resource to moving patients through the system.
* Writes self evaluation and submits annual professional and personal goals.
* Participates in appropriate role in disasters, fire drills, fires and other emergency situations. Responsible for the safety of patients and staff.
* Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
* Responsible administrative person for all nursing/operational activities on the off shift, weekends, and Holidays.
###### **What qualifications you will need:**
* A minimum of one year related experience required, medical supervisory experience a plus.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal oral, written and organizational skills
* Demonstrates understanding of implementing and monitoring quality improvement programs
* Advanced skills in computer software applications using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point with emphasis on graph creation, form design and document/record management.
* Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
* Ability to analyze and review raw data for accuracy and convert into graphs, spreadsheets, reports and presentations.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeper, Workforce Scheduler and Extensions programs.
