**DESCRIPTION**

Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor, RN is responsible for all triage calls within Department of Orthopedic Surgery. This includes but is not limited to pre\\-operative and post op calls as well triage of established patient calls and messages. Collaborate with clinical staff to support clinical operations where patient care or regulatory requirements require licensed staff.
The nurse will assist with performance improvement projects and provides patient/family education. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

* Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
* RN License issued by the State of California.
* BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6\\) months of hire date.
* Must have two (2\\) years minimum as a triage nurse and/or Orthopedics clinic RN experience.
* Must be able to function in a fast\\-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* BSN
* Previous experience in an Orthopedic Surgery clinic.
* Ortho Triage experience
* Telephone Triage
* Outpatient, emergency department, or critical care RN experience.
**SPECIAL CONDITIONS**
======================
* Per diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week. Must be available 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks and 1 major holiday. This is subject to change based on department needs.
* Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
* Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre\\-employment physical.

Annual Full Pay Range: $180,716 \\- $180,716 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $86\\.55 \\- $86\\.55
