**PLEASE NOTE**: This position is located in a secured environment working within close proximity to and with individuals housed at the Chesterfield County Jail.


High school diploma or GED; must be currently licensed by VA State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse; two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse; one year of experience in a correctional facility preferred; Certified Addiction Registered Nurse preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have working knowledge of all aspects of medical/surgical, maternity, community health and psychiatric care. Must be able to perform data collecting, defining the problem, listing objectives, and standards, considering alternative plans of action, implementing the selected plan of action, and evaluating the results and starting over with new data collection if a problem continues to exist. Must be able to document situations objectively, showing they have used proper process. Must possess the technical skills to follow through on their selected plan of action. Must have knowledge of available community resources and utilize appropriated resource persons, by consultation or referral. Must be able to successfully complete a polygraph examination. **Pre\\-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.**

**This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Criminal Justice’s Information Security Services Policy (CJIS) and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.**

**This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The medical use of marijuana for this position is prohibited.**


**Duties**
----------


Assists the Medical Director and department providers in administering the COMPASS program. Organizes and ensures proper evaluation and referrals as needed based on training and experience and existing protocols. Takes referrals from providers, medical staff, outside agencies for initial SUD screening. Facilitates or performs UDS collection/testing. Completes comprehensive assessment and refers client to Nurse Practitioner for follow up based on assessment results. Begins induction planning or continuation with provider to determine best induction plan. Enters referrals and orders or provider in EMR system as needed. Manages induction or continuation scheduling with provider. Manages stabilization of patients. Enters orders as appropriate. Manages weekly case reviews with provider and other COMPASS team members. Enters order per providers instructions. Manages transfer of clients needing advanced care to outside facilities. Manages refills based on providers orders. Facilitates MAT administration with security staff. Attends required MAT training and continuing education as needed. Assists with and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
