**Work location:** 1105 Central Expressway North, Allen TX 75013

**Work Hours:** (Days) 7:00 am\\-7:00 pm, Full\\-time, (3\\) 12\\-hour shifts, weekends and holidays required

**Medical Surgical Department Highlights:**

* 25 primary beds (2B) plus 8 overflow beds (2A) designated for med\\-surg patients that functions as an extension of our current med\\-surg unit ensuring continuity of care and collaboration across the unit.
* Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
* Fast\\-Paced, high\\-volume department cases: include post\\-surgery care including ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery and general medical overflow patients.





**Hereโ€™s What You Need:**

Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program

BSN preferred

One\\-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

One year of medical surgical experience strongly preferred

RN \\- Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And

BCLS \\- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And

CPI \\- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req And

ACLS \\- Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req



**What You Will Do:**

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter\\-shift, inter\\-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
