š Description: **Summary:**
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN provides specialized nursing care to adult patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessments but do not require intensive care. These patients may be recovering from surgery, experiencing cardiac or respiratory issues, or managing complex chronic conditions. The PCU RN uses critical thinking, clinical expertise, and strong communication to support patient recovery and coordinate care in a fast\\-paced, team\\-based environment.
**Location:** Hospital \\- Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and track changes in patient conditions.
* Manage patients on cardiac telemetry and other monitoring devices.
* Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
* Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and interventions (e.g., central lines, chest tubes, wound care).
* Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
* Document all care provided accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
* Respond to emergencies, including initiating life\\-saving interventions and participating in rapid response or code teams.
* Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies and clinical best practices.
* Support a smooth transition of care, including coordination with other units, discharge planning, or transfer to higher or lower levels of care.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
* Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
* Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
* BLS and ACLS certifications required.
* Prior experience in telemetry, step\\-down, or critical care preferred.
* Strong clinical assessment, problem\\-solving, and decision\\-making skills.
* Proficiency with electronic medical records and telemetry monitoring systems.
* Ability to work efficiently in a high\\-acuity, fast\\-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
**Type**: full\\-time contract employment 13\\-14 weeks with possibility to extend
