The Nurse Educator will be an expert in industry education standards supporting and guiding caregivers in self\\-improvement and self\\-development. The Nurse Educator will assess, guide, support, coordinate, and evaluate caregivers? orientation and ongoing learning needs in alignment with their associated program, service or care group. Under the direction of the Education Manager will be a resource, consultant, and mentor to caregivers and clinical coaches in their assigned area fostering self\\-reliance and building a social team.



The RN Educator may be asked to travel to various locations to perform their work duties.



In small or rural facilities this position functions as the facility educator with other duties as assigned.
### **Position Summary**


This is a full\\-time, facility\\-based role reporting directly to the local Education Manager, with dotted\\-line accountability to clinical leaders based on assigned portfolio.

### **Key Responsibilities**

* **Collaborative Learning Development**

Partner with interdisciplinary teams to assess goals, priorities, and learning needs within the care area. Ensure the integration of evidence\\-based practices across specialties for all caregivers.
* **Shared Leadership Participation**

Serve as an educational representative on local Shared Leadership Teams (or equivalent bodies).
* **Orientation \\& Ongoing Education**

Deliver high\\-quality, targeted orientation for new caregivers. Support the continuous learning and development of current caregivers and clinical coaches using standardized tools and resources (e.g., CSS).
* **Learning Initiative Execution**

Implement educational initiatives as directed by the Education Manager, including skill development, equipment/process transitions, and just\\-in\\-time training.
* **Needs Assessment \\& Communication**

Conduct learning needs assessments and communicate findings to clinical and education managers.
* **Competency Development**

Support caregivers in progressing from novice to expert, providing coaching and mentorship throughout their development.
* **Outcome Evaluation**

Measure and report clinical education outcomes to the Education Manager.
* **Metrics \\& Documentation**

Maintain clinical education metrics on huddle boards and document learning activities using approved tools.
* **Regulatory Readiness**

Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS) in preparation for audits and surveys.
* **Simulation\\-Based Learning**

Facilitate simulation training for new and existing staff, serving as a facilitator, confederate, or subject matter expert.
* **Coaching \\& Mentorship**

Mentor clinical coaches and caregivers, fostering personal growth and professional development.
* **Learning Expectations \\& Skill Validation**

Clearly communicate learning expectations and organize skills days or validation sessions as needed.
* **Team Collaboration**

Engage regularly with Nurse Educators across the organization to align on educational strategies.
* **Unit Presence \\& Recognition**

Maintain a visible presence across all shifts and units. Actively recognize and celebrate caregiver contributions.

### **Minimum Qualifications**

* Current RN license in the state of practice
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Unit\\-specific certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) as required
* BSN required within three years of hire or promotion
* Minimum of two years RN experience in the relevant department or specialty
* Proven ability to build collaborative relationships
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
* Demonstrated teaching and facilitation skills

### **Preferred Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
* Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Training/Development
* Certification in Nursing Professional Development
* Proficiency with learning technologies and systems (e.g., LMS, LCMS, e\\-learning tools)
* Two years of experience in strategic planning and continuous improvement

**Physical Requirements:**


Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

\\- and \\-

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

\\- and \\-

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

\\- and \\-

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
