**Summary**
Under the direct supervision of the physician, safely performs a range of clinical duties and provides support to the physician in the practice.
**Responsibilities**
* Participates and assists the physician in the provision of medical care, including:
* Taking the patient’s history
* Assessing the patient
* Assisting with examinations, treatments, injections, infusion therapy, etc.
* Preparing equipment and other medical devices, as needed
* Performs ancillary functions such as:
* Gathering and managing necessary documents (e.g. medical record, test results)
* Coordinating physician’s phone calls, as needed
* Modifying/coordinating schedule(s), as needed
* Facilitating/Completing paper work, as needed
* Acting as liaison between the physician and patient
* Assisting in the stocking of clinical supplies within the patient care areas
* Assuring proper operation of equipment and medical devices
* Following up as needed to obtain or repair equipment and medical devices
* Maintains cleanliness of the patient care areas
* Educates patients
* Assists in the education of patients in regards to their condition, physician orders, treatment plans, etc.
* Participates in the Safety Program through education and implementation of practices to facilitate a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
* Completes other duties and assignments as directed by the Physician and Practice Administrator.
Requirements:
**Qualifications**
* Must be licensed in Illinois as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing, preferably in a physician office setting.
* Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
* Must be physically able to assist patients during ambulation and examination.
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
