**Description:**

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to join our Neuro Surgical Trauma Step Down Unit \\- one of the newest and most progressive units in Idaho. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a three\\-person leadership team guiding a group of highly motivated nurses who are passionate about neuro care and eager to grow in this specialty. As a supervisor, you will help shape the future of neuro\\-surgical trauma care in the region by fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.



The unit includes 17 private stepdown rooms and is designed to support high\\-acuity care while providing a healing environment for patients and their families. Youโ€™ll be leading a team that is redefining care delivery in the state, offering mentorship and support to nurses who are building their expertise in this complex and rewarding field.



**Schedule:** Variable โ€“ Three 12\\-hour shifts per week (Two night shifts, One mid shift)



**What Youโ€™ll Do:**

As the Nursing Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, performance, and clinical excellence of the unit. You will:



* Lead daily operations of the unit, ensuring high\\-quality, cost\\-effective nursing care.
* Supervise and support nursing staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
* Serve as a clinical expert and mentor, guiding nurses who are developing their skills in neuro care and recovery.
* Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary teams to implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and care teams to facilitate clear communication and coordinated care.
* Participate in policy development, incident review, and grievance resolution.
* Provide hands\\-on patient care as needed, modeling best practices and clinical excellence.
* Support orientation and training of new staff, including charge nurses and preceptors.
* Represent the Nurse Manager in meetings and decision\\-making forums when needed.
* Maintain supply inventory, assist with timekeeping, and contribute to strategic planning for the unit.


**Qualifications:**

* Current RN license as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date. Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
* Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of leadership and supervision as normally obtained through a bachelorโ€™s degree in nursing or health care related field with two years of RN experience in acute care or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
* ACLS will be required within 6 months of hire and PALS within 12 months
