๐Ÿ“ Description: **Landmark Hospital of Columbia** is implementing a new role in our hospital that is focused on the coordination of Infection Prevention, Clinical Supervision, and Clinical Education. We are confident there will be significant synergy between these areas, and result in improvements to our overall patient outcomes and quality metrics.


What will the **Infection Preventionist \\& Clinical Supervisor** (IFCS) do on a daily basis?


This role will work directly with clinical leadership to ensure excellence across all clinical services provided at the hospital. With a focus on infection surveillance, data collection, and data analysis, this role will identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis and action planning.


IFCS will investigate infection control incidents and root causes, as well as contribute to the development and delivery of education to improve the infection control of the facility. This aspect will be enhanced by hands\\-on clinical supervision support and accomplished through frequent rounding, interaction, and collaboration with both the clinical staff and hospital leadership to evaluate and implement improvements to clinical operations.


Experience with complex, acute patient care is a must; success will be dependent on being able to truly relate and work with the staff.

**Required Education**

* Bachelorโ€™s degree in Nursing (preferred) Or Associateโ€™s degree with 5\\+ years of relevant clinical experience (infection control\\-related experience preferred)

**Required Experience**

* 3 years critical care / acute care / hospital experience \\- must have hands\\-on patient care experience
* 2 years of supervisory, charge nurse, or management experience
* 2 years of ICU, Step Down or equivalent experience is highly preferred
* 1 year of Quality or Infection control experience (preferred)

**Required Licensure / Certifications**

* Active RN license for state where working
* HACP\\-IC (or equivalent) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of start date
* BLS
* ACLS upon hire or within 90 days of start date

**Infection Prevention**

* Infection control surveillance, data collection, and data analysis
* Complete daily rounding to observe, interact, and collaborate with staff on IC related topics
* Provide IC updates, analysis, and recommendations to leadership
* Maintains NHSN and quality data accurately
* Identify areas for process and implement quality improvement actions

**Clinical Education**

* Facilitate staff education on skills, general patient care, and policies \\& procedures.
* Coordinates new clinical employee orientation, assigns preceptors, and monitors progress.
* Maintain education files of employees

**Clinical Supervision**

* Assists clinical team with accountability, efficiency, and time management in providing patient care.
* Works closely with all clinical staff to meet patient and staffing needs; work shifts on the floor occasionally
* Assists hospital leadership with staff disciplinary actions
* Acts as administrator on call, with availability in person or by phone Serves as a committee member on assigned hospital committees and participates in meetings.
* Collaborates and communicates with medical staff to ensure the needs of patients and families are met.
