**Position Overview**

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a Licensed Health Care Professional in nursing care. The selected candidate will be implementing policy and procedures of medical care, safety and security in relation to taking care of individuals in custody. The selected candidate will be attending individuals in custody when they are taken off grounds to medical appointments, court dates, or other instances when traveling outside the facility. **Essential Functions**
-----------------------
* Accompanies Individuals in Custody for off\\-campus needs including but not limited to medical visits and court hearings.
* Assists individuals in custody with Activities of Daily Living. Maintains Individuals in Custody hygiene and cleanliness to ensure a professional and presentable environment in settings in clinics, hospitals, court rooms or other public spaces.
* Provides personalized care to Individuals in Custody with varying levels of mobility and medical conditions, ensuring comfort and dignity are maintained.
* Prepares and administers medication within the limits of authority.
* Dressing changes as needed with proper infection control processes.
**Minimum Qualifications**
--------------------------
* Requires Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
* Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.
* Requires one (1\\) year of professional practice as a Registered Nurse.
**Conditions of Employment**

* Requires the ability to travel.
* Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
* Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
* Must maintain a valid and current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
* Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
