The Charge Nurse is responsible for leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high\\-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. This role includes clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordination of staff assignments based on patient needs.
**HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE**
A Registered Nurse (RN)] who excels in this role:
* Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
* Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
* Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
* Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
* Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
* Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
* Demonstrates leadership capabilities and a commitment to nursing excellence.
* Experience in clinical teaching and quality improvement is strongly preferred.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**:
This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Applicants should have a current Texas state RN license and Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program; BSN preferred. Additional requirements include:
+ Minimum of two years in a rehabilitative or acute care setting, with demonstrated leadership ability.
+ ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
- ASLS certification preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Child and Adult Abuse Certification required; CRRN preferred.
